Head Coach Cesar Valera holds USA Triathlon Level 2, Ironman University, USA Masters Swimming Level 2, Life coaching, and several additional Triathlon and fitness industry relevant certifications.
Cesar is a former professional triathlete with 25 years of experience in the sport, has raced all over the world and coached triathletes of all levels since 2007. He has also worked in the fitness industry since the early 2000s when he got his start as a Master Instructor for the original Spinning® program. Currently, he is still involved with Spinning® as a Senior MI and advisor for the new SPINPower® program.

The Cañada Tri-Team is designed to provide a supportive, safe, welcoming and motivating environment for triathletes of all levels who want to make triathlons a lifestyle. Our goal is to help participants improve their triathlon skills and achieve their personal fitness goals, regardless of their experience level.
This program offers a comprehensive and customized training plan based on your fitness level and desired racing distance. With the guidance and support of experienced coaches, you will receive personalized advice and coaching to help you achieve your fitness goals. Additionally, you will have access to all Group Exercise classes and fitness equipment at the Cañada College Athletic Center.

Book my Private Endurance Training LessonsCañada Masters is an extension program to San Mateo Masters at College of San Mateo Athletic Center and works along with our Cañada Triathlon Team. This program focuses on open water skills, stroke development and making the sport of swimming easier and more fun for every participant. Our swimmers come in all different shapes, sizes and abilities. Experience in competitive swimming is not necessary. We provide structured group workouts, motivation, stroke advice and camaraderie.

We're thrilled to introduce this revolutionary program designed for cyclists with racing aspirations and Spinning enthusiasts aiming to elevate their fitness game, coached by our Endurance Training Manager himself, Cesar Valera.
Cycling with power meters provides a precise and objective measure of effort. Unlike traditional metrics like speed or heart rate, power meters directly quantify the force applied to the pedals, offering an accurate representation of work output. This data enables cyclists to tailor their training intensity based on individual fitness levels, track progress, and set specific performance goals. Additionally, power-based training allows for effective periodization, ensuring that workouts are strategically structured to enhance endurance, strength, and speed.
Our Spinning Bikes are now equipped with the latest power meter technology, providing you with accurate and real-time metrics to optimize your training. These devices are manufactured by 4iii, a well known power meter brand, and are ANT+/Bluetooth compatible.
Through an interactive online platform every participant will be able to connect their bikes, and immerse themselves in a dynamic, gamified experience where they ride through virtual landscapes, participate in races, and engage in structured training workouts. The app utilizes real-time data from connected devices, including speed, power, and cadence, to simulate the outdoor cycling experience.
We understand the demands of your busy life. That's why our cycling sessions are strategically scheduled on both weekday mornings and evenings, with 75-90 minute rides.
