Members of the Cañada Athletic Center will have the exclusive opportunity to be a part of an active instructional space. Combining the Athletic Center membership community with a mix of students, athletes and college employees exercising side by side provides an inspiring environment where all individuals can thrive!
We are also unique, in our hours of operation.
As an Athletic Center on a college campus, we close the Athletic Center to Athletic Center Members from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. This allows student athletes, coaches and academic instructors to fully utilize the Athletic Center in its active instructional space.
The Cañada College Athletic Center is open to Athletic Center Members:
Monday - Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Saturday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

We encourage you to become a student of the College or member of the Athletic Center and experience education and community at its finest. While our partnerships develop, you may see a professor of Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance also instructing a class for Community Fitness members, a student working the front desk or a student-athlete working as a tour ambassador!
It all begins with an orientation to the facility, a general outline of exercises that are right for you and communication about our huge selection of group fitness classes and aquatics programs. Members seeking more individualized instruction can choose a Private, Personal Trainer or take part in Semi-Private Training. Both options focus on your personal goals with direction towards achieving excellence in your sport or overall fitness and health.
The Athletic Center trainers are nationally certified, and many are Cañada College Kinesiology students and graduates. Having covered a few of the details, we look forward to having you meet and get to know your fellow members, staff, facility, and programs. The Cañada College Athletic Center’s incredible 116, 000 sq. foot facility is generously community funded through Bond Measure H and provides state-of-the-art fitness equipment, aquatics programming, indoor and outdoor group exercise classes, roof-top running track, pickle-ball courts and outdoor strength training area.
The Athletic Center’s swimming program is hosted in two outdoor, year-round heated pools. An 8-lane lap pool, (78-F) and a 6-lane instructional pool (89-F). The pools programming is developed around academic instruction, community fitness and in support of local parks and recreation and swim events. Cañada College Athletic Center is used for Cañada College special community events, as well as enterprise endeavors including rental of the pool to various clubs and groups throughout the San Mateo County area.
Cañada College Athletic Center provides a massive strength training area inclusive of a large equipment selection. The Athletic Center also houses some of the finest functional training equipment on the market. This carefully selected equipment provides you with the best possible workout experience and caters to a broad group of fitness enthusiasts.
The Cañada College Athletic Center is dedicated to the collaborative space and hybrid use of Community Fitness Members, alongside students from the Kinesiology, Athletics & Dance Division.
